Yoga
If anyone is interested we have a talented instructor coming to our event for about 30 minutes to an hour (official time will be finalized this weekend) to give a free yoga lesson! Why pay $16 when you can enjoy it for free? This lesson is perfect for people who are beginners and just want to try it out or for people who just want a quick pick me up to energize yourself! What do you need to bring? Comfortable clothes to change in to (there are washrooms for changing) and a towel or mat to lie on the grass with, and yourselves of course! Please take advantage of this opportunity and we can't wait to have Ashley as a part of our team!

“I took a seat upon my yoga mat over three years ago (2010); it had
been many years since I first attended a yoga class as a young teen. I was unsure
what to expect. I must say, I met quite a challenge on my mat that day, feeling
stiff, and quite inflexible. It was not the physical challenge that surprised
me as much as the challenge I met within, yes – my thoughts – you know, the
ones that say “you should, why don’t you,
if only, look at how amazing she is next to you …”
I was in awe, as I became more and more aware of these self-limiting
thoughts. Never before had I been encouraged to sit, and ‘watch’ what was happening within my body, and within my mind. To ‘look’ from another perspective, with
softness and kind attention, letting go of the desire to force the situation to
be different, or to wish the situation to be different, or to label it as good
or bad; rather, to accept each moment as it transformed into the next moment,
with love.
Inspired, I dove into a personal exploration of various styles of
Hatha Yoga. I felt a growing passion to deepen my practice and share yoga with others
who wanted to learn. In May 2013, I completed my Akhanda Yoga 200Hr Yoga
Teacher Training.
On that first day I considered myself a
student of yoga, and today nothing has changed; with an open heart, I will continue
to learn on this journey. What has changed is the cultivation of an expansive
loving feeling to share what I have learned. Yoga has touched my life beyond
increasing my flexibility and strength; it has inspired a deeper connection
within me, and within my relationships. I’m moved to extend my practice beyond
my mat into day to day life exploring the endless possibilities and blissful
nature of moment-to-moment living.”

Brendan Kelly Band: Brendan Kelly, born January 1, 1990, is an independent recording artist from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Playing guitar since the age of 12, Brendan writes, sings and produces all his own original music and is walking in the footsteps or more like the guitar strings of Colin James and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His writing and music influences include Phil Colins, U2, The Police, Peter Gabriel and Bryan Adams, though Brendan's guitar influences of Colin James, Stevie Ray Vaughan, to Eddie Van Halen are all evident. "I like all different genres of music and especially the 70's & 80's""I try to blend it into some of my rock style and sound". In March 2011, Brendan recorded his first EP at Homestead Recorders with award winning producer Barry Allen and then in early 2012 he recorded a full double disc of all his original music with Sound Extractor Studios in Edmonton. Now with his band, this trio plays some of Brendan's real, original, rock sound while putting a twist on cover songs past and present."I have played for people solo & acoustic but there is nothing like being with a band." "Having like minded musicians that just want to play and get their sound out there is awesome". Some performance & music highlights to date include playing in Chicago, the BoonStock Festival, radio play on CJSR and CKUA, Beaumont Blues Festival, Ice on Whyte Festival, and playing for 10 thousand Oil King fans at Rexall Place in Edmonton. 2013 is seeing performances throughout Alberta and Western Canada.
